Based on probable age at marriage. My guess is he was born no later than 1756. When I consider the baptism dates of his siblings, it doesn't appear that there weren't any long delays in baptizing after births. So if he was born between 1750 and 1756, he should have been, at the very least, baptized with Mehitable, John or Joseph. With Joseph baptized in 1759, it would mean he would be born no earlier than September 1759. It's certainly possible that he could father a child at age 17, I'm not sure he probable did though. I suppose that he could have, in his haste to go to war, fathered a child with Margaret, gone off to fight and returned to marry her. There is a gap of about 6 years between the first and second children. At this point, I'm not entirely convinced that this Jonathan is the same Jonathan, son of Robert & Rebecca (Phippen) Allen. | Allen, Adjt. Jonathan (I9415)

Based on William's birth date, it is not likely that he was the son of Augustine and Susannah (NEHGR 33:98). He could have been a son of an earlier marriage. GDMNH says there is a baptism of a William, son of William, on 4 Sep 1611 in Wirksworth, Derby that may be promising. I've found that and I'm going with that - at least for now. | Storer, William (I14517)
