"Nathaniell Drake aged about seventy-eight year and Abraham Drake aged about seventy year" stated "that they have known Mr. John Bland sometime liver upon the island called Matthew's Vineyard formerly a liver at Colchester in England. We have also known Isabell Bland now the wife of Thomas Levit of Hampton in New Hampshire, we have known them both ever since we were children, and the said Isabell Bland now the wife of Thomas Levit was always accounted to be the daughter of the abovesaid John Bland and we have heard the abovesaid John Bland to own the abovesaid Isabell to be his daughter & never heard nothing to the contrary never since we can remember and the abovesaid John Bland was sometimes called by some persons John Smith, but his name and his ancestors' name was called Bland" |
