  	The order was issued "that four men should be chosen ... to join with the constable to [prose]cute the same about ensuring of land.... These five or the major part of them shall [meet] every first Monday in the morning at [the ringing] of a bell that those which desire to have their lands entered may repair thither to the constable's house."

The survey was begun 1 May 1635, the first Tuesday in that month. Nine men's estates were surveyed on that date, commencing with the most prominent men in town
