Warren Wintrub Retires
Warren G. Wintrub, a partner of Coopers & Lybrand for 3l years, was honored for his many contributions to the Firm at his retirement dinner on March 4.
Warren served on C&L's Executive Committee for 12 years, was instrumental in the formation of the Partner Investment Committee and the Asset Fund, and chaired the Pension Committee since it became funded in 1979. Warren was also largely responsible for the Firm's leadership position in providing financial advisory services to the investment banking community.
Warren's reception, hosted by Harvey Bazaar and Henry Immerman, was attended by over 100 current and retired partners. Harvey and Harry were joined by Warren's partners, Herman Schneider, Dave Goodrich, Bob Herz and Sy Jones, in presenting speeches that both honored Warren's contributions and recollected stories of his early years as a partner and mentor to so many of his colleagues. The presentations were heartfelt and often witty--reflecting the feelings of all who knew and worked with Warren.
Warren's family including his wife, Toby and his daughter Marcy Wintrub, an MCS consultant, were also present at the party to see and hear for themselves how well respected Warren is by the Firm.
Harvey noted that "Warren's legacy to this Firm is embodied in the inquisitive and creative process which he has taught to many of our most successful partners. Those who have had the privilege of working with him flourish from the wisdom he has imparted and will build on the foundations he has created."
The Firm will miss Warren's intellect and strength, and, as Harry said, we will mostly miss Warren's capacity to "challenge us to probe, to evaluate, to stretch our creativity and to be decisive."
We wish Warren many happy and fulfilling years.
