Richard Porter was born about 1600 in England. He died in 1688/89 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.
On list of passengers leaving Weymouth, England 30 Mar 1635 on the ship Susan & Ellen for New England (NEHGR v25 p13) with Rev. Joseph Hull's company. Settled in Wessaguscus which was quickly renamed Weymouth. Richard is probably brother of John Porter who settled in Hingham (some 3 miles from Weymouth) in 1635.
He was married to Ruth about 1636.

Ruth was born about 1600. Children were:

i. John Porter signed his will on 8 Feb 1715/16.
ii. Thomas Porter died in 1672. He was married to Sarah Vining.
iii. Mary Porter.
iv. Ruth Porter was born on 3 Oct 1639 in Weymouth, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts.
