John Smalley was born about 1615. He left London, co. Middlesex, England on 9 Mar 1632 aboard the "William and Francis", arriving in New England on 5 June 1632. He took the oath of freeman in 1642 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. He died on 30 Jul 1692 in Piscataway, Middlesex Co., New Jersey. He was a tailor. He was married to Ann Walden on 29 Nov 1638 in Plymouth Colony. 

Ann Walden was born about 1616. She died on 29 Jan 1693/94 in Piscataway, Middlesex Co., New Jersey. Children were:

i. Hannah Smalley was born on 14 Jun 1641 in Plymouth Colony. She died after 1708 in Eastham, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts.
ii. John Smalley Jr. was born on 8 Sep 1644 in Plymouth Colony. He died between 13 Sep 1731 and 25 May 1733.
iii. Isaac Smalley was born on 11 Dec 1647 in Eastham, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. He was baptized on 27 Feb 1647/48 in Barnstable Church, Barnstable, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. He and Mary were twins. He died between  4 Dec 1724 and 11 Feb 1724/25.
