Adam Hawkes         was born
about 1608 in Hingham, co. Norfolk,
England. He emigrated in 1630 from England. He arrived
with the Winthrop Fleet. He died on 13 Mar 1671/72 in Lynn, Essex Co.,
Massachusetts. 
His estate
inventory was taken on 18 Mar 1671/72.
He was a farmer. He
was also known as Adam Haukes. He settled on the Hawkes Farms, in Saugus. He owned the land
where the iron ore was found, and filled up one of the mines, on the supposition
that it contained silver. Soon after his settlement, his house was burned. The
only persons in it at the time, were a servant girl and two twin infants, who
escaped. He married first Ann Brown about 1631 in Charlestown, Suffolk Co.,
Massachusetts.  
Ann Brown was born about 1605. She died on 4 Dec 1669 in
Lynn, Essex Co.,
Massachusetts.
Ann brown married first Thomas Hutchinson.
