Capt. Ichabod Grindle was born about 1744, baptized on 1 May 1744, in Berwick, York Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. He died in Dec 1810. He was also known as Ichabod Grindal. He was married about 1765. The name of his first wife is unknown at this point. Children were:

i. Joshua Grindle was born about 1765.
ii. Deacon John B. Grindle.

He married second, Sarah Dow, on 15 Jul 1782 in Haverhill, Essex Co., Massachusetts.
