Capt. William Hines was born about 1645. He died bet 9 Feb 1735/6 (will) and 30 Jun 1736 (will probated) in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He was also known as William Hinds. He was married to Abigail Ward about 1681.

Abigail Ward was baptized on 6 Aug 1669 in 1st Church, Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts. She died in 1688 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts. Children were:

i. John Hines was born on 14 Feb 1682 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts.
ii. Abigail Hines.
iii. Rebecca Hinds was born on 7 Apr 1686 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts. and baptized on 10 Apr 1686 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts. She died after 22 Mar 1749.
iv. William Hinds was baptized on 22 Jul 1688 in Marblehead, Essex Co., Massachusetts  and died young.
