Ebenezer Barton was born about 1682 in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He enlisted in the forces under Capt. Joseph Eaton on 22 Sep 1712 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He died on 6 May 1721 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He was cast away and drowned at Newbury Bar.
His estate was probated in Arundel, York Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. He was a mariner. Also a resident of Arundel Maine, Ebenezer's estate was probated there. Solomon Holman, his brother in law was the administrator. The records mention some 100 acres at Kennebunk "in right of his father William" and other lands. The accounts include support and maintenance of four of his children but make no mention of his wife.
He was married to Esther Flood on 5 May 1710 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.

Esther Flood was born on 15 May 1686 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. She died about 1721. She was also known as Hester Flood. Children were:

iv. Ebenezer Barton was born in Apr 1718 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He died in 1781 in Chichester, Merrimack Co., New Hampshire.
v. Mercy Barton was born about 1719. She was also known as Marcy Barton.
