William Hilton was born in 1585 in Northwich, co. Cheshire, England. He emigrated on 9 Nov 1621 from England, arriving on the "Fortune". He established settlement of Dover, Strafford Co., New Hampshire. in 1624 with his brother Edward. He took the oath of freeman on 19 May 1642 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts. He died on 30 Jun 1656 in York, York Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. He was a tavern keeper and ferryman.

Pilgrim. He came from London, England, to Plymouth, MA, in the ship "Fortune" on 11 Nov 1621. His wife and two children followed on the ship "Anne" in July or August 1623. There was granted to him "one acre lying to the sea, eastward", and to his wife and children "three acres butting against the swampe and reed ponds". Prior to 1627, he removed from Plymouth and settled on the Piscataqua River near Dover. He was Deputy to the General
Court at Boston in 1644.

iii. Elizabeth Hilton was baptized on 27 Jun 1616. She died before 1 Aug 1616 in England. She was buried on 1 Aug 1616 in Northwich, co. Cheshire, England.
iv. Alice Hilton.
v. Mary Hilton was baptized on 11 May 1619 in Northwich, co. Cheshire, England. She emigrated in Jul 1623 from England. She arrived on the "Anne". She was also known as Mary Downer.
vi. John Hilton was born in 1621 in England.
vii. Magdalene Hilton was born in 1624 in Plymouth, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts.
viii. Agnes Hilton.
ix. Mainwaring Hilton, pronounced "Mannering", was born in 1627 in Dover, Strafford Co., New Hampshire. "Penobscot Pioneers" says before 1650. He died in Jul 1671 in York, York Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. He was married to Mary Moulton in 1670.
