Col. Jeremiah Wardwell was born on 19 Dec 1756 in York, York Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts and baptized there in the First Parish Church on 8 May 1757. He died on 25 Oct 1825 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Maine and was buried in Wardwell Cemetery there. He was a privateer on the ship "Tryphena" in the Revolutionary War and one of the first selectman in Penobscot, Maine, along with Joseph Perkins, in 1787. He was married to Elizabeth Banks on 14 Sep 1779.

Elizabeth Banks was born on 5 Jun 1764 in Castine, Hancock Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. She appeared on the census in 1850 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Maine, age 86. She died on 26 Nov 1853 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Maine and was buried in Wardwell Cemetery. Children were:

He married first, Elizabeth Newbury on 4 May 1811 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts, second, Joanna Robbins on 19 Nov 1822 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Maine.
v. Anna Wardwell was born on 7 Apr 1790 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Province of Maine, Massachusetts. She appeared on the census in 1850 in Penobscot, Hancock Co., Maine, age 60.
